Designer. Educator. AI builder.
I’m Ashlea Spitz. I’ve spent 25 years designing and teaching, and today I build AI systems for established businesses.
- M.Ed., Simon Fraser University
- MIT Sloan, AI for Business Strategy
- Professor of Design
- Registered Graphic Designer (RGD)

I help people and businesses use AI with confidence. I teach it, and I build the systems that put it to work.
What I believe
AI isn’t a new tool. It’s a new way of thinking.
It’s not the next Creative Cloud update. It’s a creative partner, and the people who learn to think with it will do their most original work.
The unknown is where we grow.
The fear I hear most is that AI will take our jobs. But AI isn’t going anywhere, so the safest move is to understand it and evolve with it.
AI should make people more creative, not less needed.
I keep asking one question: how can AI enhance human creativity? It shapes every system I build at Pixsoul. The technology takes the repetitive work, so people can do the work only they can.
How it started
My journey into AI began with a simple curiosity: how can we use this incredible technology to enhance human creativity and innovation?
I started as a designer, working with clients at Pixsoul Media, and found my second calling in the classroom as a professor of design. I began working with AI in 2018, and my master’s research at SFU explored creative problem-solving and critical thinking in an age of automation and AI.
That curiosity is what I bring to Pixsoul Media today, with the same practical, people-first approach I’ve always taken to teaching.
AI literacy is no longer optional. It’s a necessity for professionals in every field.
